The Track Winds On ...

  • Discover some very interesting facts about Pine Rivers in a most entertaining way - sit down for approximately 15 minutes to see "The Track Winds On..."

We follow the story through the eyes of the young Edgar Foreman, and meet his great-great-great granddaughter, Ellie. It starts in the 1840's when European settlement in this area started, and ends with the Shire of today. This object theatre uses moving objects, video, sound and light effects to keep you entertained for the full duration.

Mountains to Mangroves

The Natural Environment plays an important part in the lives of our Shire Residents - this display features some of the habitats found in our geographical area.
With activities for children and youthful adults.

Explorers

Follows the tracks of Parsons, Finnegan and Pamplet, how John Oxley met them to finally discover the Pine River and the Brisbane river. Also looks at one of the first European explorers, James Cook.

Thimbles to Thunderbox

An exhibition of recent acquisitions and objects donated to the North Pine Country Park. This is a display of our growing collection. One of the most fascinating objects include a boat built by the Piggott family who owned the firs bakery at Strathpine. This exhibition displays many more of the significant historical objects donated by the Pine Rivers Shire community.
