Volunteering

Volunteers play a very important role at the Pine Rivers Heritage Museum. Volunteers bring vitality, interests, experience and skills to supporting the work of staff and they assist the museum in maintaining its high standards of customer service.

Currently, we are seeking customer care and collection admin officers to work Wednesday to Sunday. For example, work one Sunday every month for five hours, meet new people and enjoy the vibrant Sunday market atmosphere at Old Petrie Town.

Volunteer roles at the museum are:

  • Customer care officer - operate the front desk, handle bookshop sales and queries
  • Maintenance officers - maintenance of the building and gardens
  • Collections admin officers - catalogue collection onto the computer database
  • Collections care officers - preventive conservation applied to collection
  • School-activities guides - present lessons to visiting school groups
On the job training and specialised training is provided for all roles.
