Whole cloth traditional Durham quilt in sateen, pink one side and ivory the other. Elaborately hand quilted. It is padded but the type of padding is unknown. 2030 x 2030mm.
Patchwork quilt made for a child. All cotton with cotton padding. White blocks have embroidery depicting different nursery rhymes eg Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary ; Old Mother Goose. These blocks are separated by rectangular strips of teal cotton. The quilt is hand stitched and heavily quilted.

Unfinished small quilt top of pale blue linen with squares of embroidery and silk patches appliqued and embroidered. The centre has embroidered coat of arms of the Baillie (or Bayley)family. Embroidered motifs are flowers, domestic items, anchor, butterfly, fan, basket, gardening implements. Total of 99 patches in silk, linen and cotton.

Wholecloth quilt with white cotton centre, sky blue cotton border and dark blue binding. There are 9 repeat designs of cross stitched flowers and leaves in the centre section. Around the blue border there are 18 cross stitched flowers. Blue on blue and white on white cotton quilting of diagonal lines and curls pattern the quilt. The backing is white cotton and there is a very light padding.

"This all white quilt has a front face of fine white plain weave cotton. The quilt is lined with brushed cotton twill. The two layers are quilted with white cotton thread across the entire surface with rows of zigzag stitching 16-20mm apart.
The edges of the quilt have been cut to form scallops and the raw edges here are secured with a binding of fabric similar to that used on the front face of the quilt. All work on the quilt appears to be hand sewn." [NGA] The quilt is not padded. 2655 x 2150mm

The quilting consists of a fern pattern medallion in the centre, straight lines and a fern pattern border. The padding is fine wadding and the backing is white sheeting with a small floral pattern,

Double sided cretonne quilt, red floral one side, green floral the other. The padding is layers of blanket pieces and pieces of woollen clothes tacked flat. It is machine quilted in squares from the centre outwards.

Wholecloth quilt of natural coloured cotton material. Two thousand two hundred and twenty six names have been embroidered on the top in red stranded cotton. The backing is red and white cotton material.

Cot quilt made in rows of crochet in treble clusters. Backed with blue cotton fabric. Backing replaced with another backing of blue fabric in 1970. Colours of rows are green,yellow, blue, pink and red.
Quilt made of white cotton with a diamond set applique pattern of brown tipped pink dogwood blossoms with green leaves in the centre. Hand appliquéd. The centre is hand quilted with cross hatching and the borders are quilted with feathered cables and circular patterns. Padding is Mountain Mist polyester, the backing is of white cotton. The quilt edges are bound with pink bias binding.

Wholecloth quilt with one side of blue satin and the other of red cotton or sateen. Overall intricate quilting pattern with each part based on a symbol of Rhodes. On the blue side the quilting stitches outlining the deer have been over embroidered in gold braid. The padding is raw cotton.

Wholecloth quilt made of gold satin with a backing of beige coloured cotton. The padding is wool. The quilting pattern is an all over diamond pattern, framed in a border of straight and wavy parallel lines. It is hand quilted.

Utilitarian quilt. Padding consists of recycled hand knitted jumper pieces (mainly 3 ply crepe and 8 ply) tacked to a layer of cotton material with strong buttonhole twist thread. The top is a piece of cotton fabric. Machine quilted in rows approximately 70mm apart.

Wholecloth quilt of golden brown cotton satin, the reverse side of pink cotton satin. Central quilting pattern of interlaced curves, within 3 rows of parallel stitching, then a border pattern of an interlaced knot design, the edge finished with 2 rows of parallel quilting. Red Applique on an off white background. All applique is by hand using herringbone stitch. Three different red materials are used for the applique each printed with a different tiny all over pattern. There are 3 different applique shapes: the 9 major shapes have 8 points; the daisy pattern has 8 petals; the edge pattern is used along the top, left and half of the bottom edge of the quilt and sometimes has 4 points, sometimes 3 and sometimes 2. There is a tiny red piping around the quilt along the bottom and both sides. It is hand quilted in 100mm long zig zags 12mms apart all over the quilt. The quilt is signed twice on the front, once in ink and once in embroidery. It is signed 'Anna Edwards Jan 1858'. There is no padding and the backing material is similar to the off white background material of the top.
