Victorian College of the Arts Collection and Gallery

The Collection of the Victorian College of the Arts has been formed from the institution's earliest days as the National Gallery School of Art, and consists of works of art in most media acquired from students and staff of the School of Art, together with works by visiting artists and donations. In 1992 this was augmented by a merger with Victoria College (Prahran School of Art), which brought in its similar collection.

At present, due to resource constraints, the Collection is not on public display, except for a small number of works hung in public areas of the College. Plans are in progress both to put the collection on-line and for a series of exhibitions displaying the collection over the next few years.

The Victorian College of the Arts Gallery is located in the School of Art, Gate 5, Dodds St, Southbank 3006. Opened in August 2001, it is not connected to the College Collection, but focusses on the exhibition of contemporary art.
