Port Dock Station Railway Museum (SA) Inc

An undercover collection of locomotives and railway vehicles, depicting the history of railways in SA and the Commonwealth Railways. The steam era, railcars and diesel's and all three rail gauges are represented. The museum also contains displays of railway operations and other historic memorabilia associated with railway history.

First class Dining Car introduced on the Melbourne Express in 1928. Imported by Commissioner Webb as part of the revitalisation of South Australian Railways - nothing but the best! The concrete floor was poured after its arrival.

Royal Carriage with sleeping quarters for ten people. Built originally for the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, it was the last wooden bodied carriage constructed by the SAR. It became the Commissioner's Car for his annual inspection of the broad gauge system.

Carriage with sleeping quarter for ten people. Built for the State Governor's use on tours and inspections, and also used by members of the Royal Family. A wonderful, art-deco steel bodied car displaying first class craftsmanship. The only carriage with a bath.
