A seaside town 548km north of Sydney. Dairying and banana growing are the main farming pursuits, although tourism is a major element of life in Coffs Harbour.

Dorrigo

Dorrigo is a dairy and beef cattle area that is located 730m above sea level overlooking the Bellinger Valley. The 4000ha Dorrigo National Park is located just 4km from the town on the Bellingen road, and is the last remaing section of a rainforest that once covered the entire region. It is dense in vegetation and features coachwood and red cedar trees, and unique orchids. Wildlife that can be found in the national Park includes; swamp wallabies, lyrebirds, bowerbirds and brush turkeys.

Grafton

Located on the Clarence River, this town is most famous for it's annual Jacaranda festival held during the first week of November when the town turns on its spectacular display of purple flowers.

One of Grafton's most famous sons is singer Troy Cassar-Daley. Troy has won many golden guitar awards in Tamworth including best male vocal and best album. Some of the other awards he has recieved include 3 times Australian country entertainer of the year, along with 2 ARIA Awards for Best Country Album. Troy's mother Irene Daley is a highly respected aboriginal artist who still resides in Grafton .

Taree

Located on the Manning River about 20km inland from the coast, Taree is a rich pastorial region. The town is situated on the Pacific Highway as well as the Sydney to Brisbane rail line.
